a lighthouse in my photos

i remember laughing with my friend Tim one day about photos of lighthouses and tourist photos of peggys cove...and I swore I'd never take that photos and try to present it to a clients...

well, the first engagement shoot of 2009 had us out at Peggy's Cove in the warm, windy weather and it was awesome.

brides squared

i've been lucky to be in the studio a lot lately. all the planning and back room mumbo jumbo sucks the creativity outta me. so i can finally say 'it's on'. shooting w 4 soon-to-be-brides tomorrow and Jenny send me a tear sheet tonight that had the same photo i was thinking about so i know before we begin we're going to be on the same page. 

after that it's a lot more shooting outside for some pre weding shoots and then wedding-o-rama strikes down upon us and we couldn't be happier. Marse and I have surrendered our Saturdays from now until November.....and we couldnt be happier.

i don't do a lot of commercial or product photography but this opportunity came up to shoot some product shots for Fuzzy Duck and I couldn't pass it up. so I shot it last nite in the studio around midnite...and yes I drank them while i shot them.

the studio is shaping up. the MAC cinema display is up and running, tunes are pumping and there's no more rolling paper or backdrops.

thats it. baby's sleepin and the cork is outta the bottle. marse is running 16k w nikki tomorrow and then hittin the cottage until Monday for a "Little Ladies Gettaway". all is good... very, very good in this little family of three. we couldn't be happier.

i bought you a new hard drive today

because 2009 weddings have begun and i'm stoked. Henry's also happens to beng having a grand opening this weekend too. i'll wait outside overnite for pearl jam and tom petty tickets...and perhaps to get in line for some free Henry's cash. 

anyway, no real intention here except to post a shot i came across after doing some reprints of a shoot we did a year ago with their first baby, Innes. He's turned in to a pretty happenin little fella these days.

the Shitapples are in town!

Here's a quick blog just before we head out the door for a few drinks.

Doug, Carrie, Ava, Ashton & Braden rolled into town around 4 today and there's a crowd gathering in Dartmouth tomorrow nite at the Delaney's....just like the old days but with 8.5 kids and 4-5 dogs running around this time.

it seems like we're all going through really fucked up things these days. be they good or bad. regardless, there's nothing better than sitting around the kitchen with your best friends and gettin all Gordon Stewart.

i can't wait to see everyone.

3 people told me today I need to blog more...and then I stood up in front of people and talked about how important blogging can be in promotion of ...yourself (or your brand(winky face)). damn that mcdonalds commercial is funny. seriously, man too important to type his own text enjoys meatish like wrap and equates his joy to the winky face. get it? like, "this is delicious (WINKY FACE)"

Happy Easter blog

everyone in the house is sick w a cold but we hit the streets today anyway. met up w the Delaneys and hit the market and Cora's w all the kids. Lola would have nothing to do with a nap this afternoon so while Marse was out for her 10k we hit the rug, played some records and took a few photos just for fun.

there's a lot happening at Applehead Studio but for now...here's some fun stuff from Lola and some of her friends.
